Quick Reference: Golf Betting Math

Nassau Exposure

A $10 Nassau with auto-presses means up to 5 bets × $10 = $50 maximum exposure. Most rounds result in 3-4 active bets.

EV Tip: If you're a 55% favorite on each bet, your EV per Nassau = 3 × ($10 × 0.55 − $10 × 0.45) = +$3.00

Skins Value Escalation

With $5 skins and carryovers, a skin carried 3 holes is worth $20. The last few holes often have 3-4 carryovers stacked up.

Strategy: In a 4-player skins game, each player wins ~4.5 skins on average. With $5 skins: expected cost = ~$22.50, but variance is huge.

Wolf Strategy

Going Lone Wolf doubles the stakes. Only do it when you hit a great drive and the others don't. Blind Wolf (triple stakes) should be reserved for your best holes.

Kelly Sizing: If you're 60% to win a Lone Wolf hole at $10/point, Kelly says bet 20% of bankroll. Quarter-Kelly = 5%.

Handicap Adjustment

Give strokes based on 80% of handicap difference. A 10-handicap vs 20-handicap should give 8 strokes (on the 8 hardest holes).

Fair Play: With proper handicap strokes, each player should have approximately 50% win probability — making every bet close to even-money.
